NBA: Top Weekend Trends (Good for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)

2008-04-11

The last full weekend of NBA action is ready to unfold with still much to be decided before the post-season opens next weekend. Many of the games on tap will have direct bearing on playoff positioning. With so much on the line, be sure to stay tuned to the Betting Trends and Team Statistics pages for the latest info. One particular trend backing Utah on Saturday has had a 88% ATS success rate. Read on.

For now though, hereís a quick look at the key games along with the Top Trends available for Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

In the East, the playoff picture is a lot more clear than it is out West, as only the official sorting of the #5, #6, and #7 seeds remains to be done. However, in the West, who goes where and who hosts series is nothing short of a jumbled mess. What happens this weekend in several key games could go a long way in clearing up the picture. On Friday, two key games will be on tap, first Houston hosting Phoenix, then the Lakers welcoming the Hornets to town. Those are four of the six teams that still held out hope for home court advantage in the first round, so none of them can afford a loss at anytime, especially to another contender. The Rockets have played just 5 & 5 basketball as of presstime since their incredible 22-game winning streak and will try to avoid falling to 5 & 21 ATS against the Pacific Division. The Lakers meanwhile, will put to the test a 0 & 7 ATS trend in their last seven season second half games against teams with a winning record. The winner of the Los Angeles-New Orleans game could hold the key to the Westís top seed for the playoffs. Sunday offers up a stellar doubleheader on ABC to wrap up the weekend. First, itís Toronto visiting Detroit in a like first round playoff preview. The Pistons will want to take care of business at home though, not giving the Raptors any reason to think they could win a 7-game series between the teams. In the late game, itís San Antonio visiting Kobe & the Lakers. Should Los Angeles sweep the two huge games at home on Friday and Sunday, it will establish itself as the team to beat in the West, and will probably earn home court advantage throughout. It certainly wonít be easy though, as the Lakers had lost five straight games against the pointspread heading into the week. With the intensity of the NBA playoffs just around the corner, be sure to tune up with the remaining regular season. Sportsbook.com will of course have everything you need to make your basketball betting experience worthwhile!
